Itinerary
Day 1 – Arrival in Nairobi
Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, where you’ll be met and transferred to the Nairobi Serena Hotel. Spend the day relaxing or explore optional excursions such as the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, the Out of Africa Experience, or the Nai Nami Cultural Walking Tour.
Overnight: Nairobi Serena Hotel (Bed & Breakfast)
Day 2 – Nairobi to Masai Mara National Reserve
After breakfast, depart Nairobi and travel through the scenic highlands, descending into the Great Rift Valley. Continue across golden fields to the Masai Mara, arriving in time for lunch. Enjoy your first afternoon game drive, returning to the lodge as the sun sets.
Overnight: Mara Serena Safari Lodge (Full Board)
Day 3 – Masai Mara National Reserve
Spend the day exploring the Mara on morning and afternoon game drives. Visit a local Maasai village and take in the dramatic beauty of the landscape. A highlight is the Hippo Pool Breakfast (weather permitting), a scenic bush breakfast beside the Mara River accompanied by the sounds of grunting hippos.
Overnight: Mara Serena Safari Lodge (Full Board)
Day 4 – Masai Mara to Lake Elmenteita via Lake Nakuru
Depart the Mara after breakfast and travel through Kenya’s highlands to Lake Nakuru National Park. Enjoy a picnic lunch and a game drive to spot flamingos, black and white rhinos, and Rothschild giraffes. Continue to the Soysambu Conservancy, arriving at Lake Elmenteita Serena Camp at sunset.
Overnight: Lake Elmenteita Serena Camp (Full Board with select house drinks)
Day 5 – Lake Elmenteita to Nairobi / Departure
After breakfast, take a guided bird walk along the lake (weather permitting) before returning to Nairobi. Enjoy a hot lunch en route before being dropped at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport or your city hotel for onward travel.
